The Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular consoles Nintendo has ever produced, with a wide variety of games to choose from and plenty of unique features. We’ve already gotten to play new entries across the Zelda, Super Mario, and Pokémon series on Nintendo Switch, but there are still plenty of great games on the way for the hybrid console. This includes exclusive games developed internally by Nintendo, as well as third-party titles and ports of games that are also available on other platforms. Not all upcoming video games make their way to Switch, but plenty do!
Here’s our list of the best upcoming Nintendo Switch games for 2025 and beyond. Of course, some titles are also upcoming Switch 2 games. And if you’re looking at all upcoming video games across every console, don’t forget to check out what’s upcoming on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC this year.
These games are set to launch in 2025 on the Switch so long as there are no delays.
While we wait for the next Animal Crossing, there’s Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma ready to hold you over if you haven’t played it yet. This is the latest entry in the long-running RPG life simulator game. Unlike other games in the genre, the action and plot are much more of a focus, though there are plenty of ways to chill out and enjoy the quiet life.
The first two Patapon games were cult classic PSP games but are now coming to the Swith in one package. Patapon 1+2 Replay brings all the cute and rhythm-based gameplay of the originals, but adds some much-appreciated quality of life improvements.
Visual novel and mystery game fans, you have something special to look forward to with a new entry in the AI: The Somnium Files. No Sleep For Kaname Date brings back the protagonist from the first game teaming up with Aibo to solve a new case and rescue an internet idol named Iris who has been kidnapped and is being forced to participate in a deadly escape game.
All we know about the games listed below is that they’re in development. Most of them are probably a few years away from launch.
While we don’t know if Mario Kart 9 will be a Switch 2 exclusive or not yet, we do know that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will still hit Switch. This isn’t just a Sonic-themed knock-off, either, but a fantastic racer in its own right with tight controls, great courses, and fun power-ups.
