The coupe version of the Pagani Huayra may be coming to an end, but it’s far from the swan song for the breathy-named supercar. It’s now time to produce the roadster version, and Pagani has announced the time and place where it will kick off.

A Pagani representative told Autovisie that the drop-top version of its second supercar will be built in a brand new facility … right up the street. This new factory will allow the luxury automaker to increase its annual production to 300 cars, but that’s merely what its capable of. To retain the car’s exclusivity (100 units per model isn’t exclusive enough, apparently), Pagani will keep the factory output to 45 per year.

As mentioned above, the run of the Huayra roadster will be kept to 100 units, just as the coupe version. Each of them will be fitted with an AMG-sourced twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 that cranks out 720 horsepower and 740 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed sequential gearbox. The coupe Huayra is capable of leaping from 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds, topping out at around 231 mph, given enough room. We’re sure that the convertible version won’t show too big a drop in performance, if at all.

Production for the Huayra is set for September, which is when the new facility will be completed. This will put the car in line for its 2016 reveal, which we’re sure to see at one of the major auto shows after the holidays.

Beyond the roadster, company founder Horatio Pagani hinted that a more “hardcore” version of the Huayra might be on the way as a “gift” to the world’s Pagani fans. Apart from that tease, there hasn’t been any mention of it, but if this new facility is only being used for a fraction of its output for the Roadster, theres potential for some future surprises.
