This rendering for the reborn Ford Bronco demands your attention

Ford reportedly plans to reintroduce its Bronco truck in 2020, and if it looks anything like this fan forum render, there's a lot to be excited about. Bronco6G.com is responsible for the handsome concept art.

A quick glance at these images and you’re feeling things you never thought you’d feel about a Bronco, I know.

Sure, maybe the original from the 1960’s had that timeless boxy look and the 90’s version rocked high school parking lots everywhere, but if this rendering from Bronco6G.com is any indicator of what’s coming with the reborn Bronco in 2020, you may have a new 4×4 fantasy.

We’ve had years of teasers and vague concepts from Ford, but recent news suggests the automaker is preparing its Wayne, Michigan truck factory for the utility vehicle’s production. The Bronco fan forum is getting a bit antsy to see what Ford is cooking up, so they went ahead and designed their own vision of the next-generation model. And hot damn does it look fine.

“For our Bronco concept, we fused styling elements from previous Bronco generations, the 2004 Bronco concept, and modern Ford trucks and SUVs,” Bronco6G.com administrator Tom told Road & Track in an email. “You can see the classic round headlights and square inset front grille evolved from the 1st-gen Bronco, which was also showcased in the retro-futuristic 2004 Bronco concept.”

“Our concept features a modern body-on-frame next-generation Bronco that retains a tall, boxy, tough, no-frills design with a strong focus on utility and off-road capabilities. We fitted separate versions with different grilles, wheel fender shapes, varying ride heights, and cargo rack for some different looks,” Tom said.

You might call the site’s members experts on the sixth-generation Bronco (it’s in their name), but ultimately, Ford has yet to confirm the Bronco nameplate will revive on a set date. Still, Bronco6G.com claims their sources point to production in the next few years, with the vehicle targeting Jeep’s next-generation Wrangler.

When all we had to sculpt our imaginations was Ford’s 2004 concept, it was hard to get overly excited about the redesigned truck, but now we must urge Ford to hire the masterminds behinds these works of art and get to work!

BYD has launched the third-generation Qin Plus DM-i in China, and the first thing that caught my eye is its price. According to CarNewsChina, the plug-in hybrid sedan starts at 79,900 yuan, which is about $11,980. That’s an incredibly low price for a brand-new car, especially by US standards.

What’s even more impressive is the range. The Qin Plus DM-i can drive up to 137 miles on electricity alone, which should cover most people’s daily commutes without using a drop of gas. Once the battery runs out, the 1.5-liter engine takes over. Thanks to its 17-gallon tank and roughly 91 mpg with a drained battery, the combined range reaches up to 1,423 miles.

Apple won the PC market’s worst quarter, but that’s not the entire story. It won the race by stumbling less than everyone else.

PC makers shipped just 57 million computers worldwide in Q3, which might look good, but it’s a 21% year-over-year plunge (via Counterpoint Research). And despite Apple’s Mac shipments falling by 11%, to 5.6 million, its market share rose from 8.7% to 9.8%. How did that happen?

Update (October 22 23:54 PT): In response to our query, GM clarified that offline recording support is already available on eligible vehicles. Like Tesla's Sentry Mode, it requires owners to connect a USB drive to save incident recordings, which can be viewed on the vehicle's infotainment screen. The upcoming Connected Cameras feature will build on this by giving owners remote access to these recordings via the revamped OnStar app, allowing them to check footage without walking out to their car.

General Motors has announced plans to add a new Connected Cameras feature to its OnStar service starting next year, giving drivers a way to monitor parked vehicles remotely and capture footage of certain incidents.
