You should be ready to spend a lot if you want a powerful gaming laptop, but you should also be on the lookout for potential savings. This configuration with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card is down from $3,300 to $2,800, which is still expensive, but you wouldn’t want to miss this chance at $500 in savings. You have to hurry though, as stocks may run out at any moment!
The resurrection of Alienware’s Area-51 brand brings the Alienware 18 Area-51 gaming laptop, which is all about performance. In addition to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card, it’s equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and 32GB of RAM, which our guide on how much RAM do you need says is the sweet spot for high-end gamers. With these specifications, the Alienware 18 Area-51 challenges the best gaming laptops with the ability to run the best PC games at their most demanding settings without missing a beat.
All of that power under the hood of the Alienware 18 Area-51 will be given justice by its 18-inch screen with WQXGA resolution and a 300Hz refresh rate. It’s pretty heavy at about 10 pounds, and with that relatively large display, it’s not as portable as its sleeker counterparts, but the gaming laptop makes up for that by allowing you to install multiple AAA titles at a time on its 2TB SSD with Windows 11 Home out of the box.
Dell’s Black Friday in July sale is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of gaming laptop deals, like this one for the Alienware 18 Area-51 with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. From its original price of $3,300, it’s on sale for $2,800 following a $500 discount. It’s still a significant investment, but the savings will go a long way towards building your gaming library and your arsenal of video game accessories. You have to proceed with the purchase right now though, as there’s no telling how much time is remaining before stocks of the Alienware 18 Area-51 gaming laptop sell out.
Acer’s Predator Atlas 8 finally has a US release date and price, several months after the company first showed off the handheld in May. The highlight is the Intel Arc G3 Extreme chip inside, which has been adopted by only a couple of other consoles besides the Atlas 8. This version will go on sale exclusively at Best Buy on November 1 for $1,299.99.
Acer originally said the Atlas 8 would arrive in North America in October, but left pricing open at the time. The launch came amid the ongoing DRAM crunch, which has made memory more expensive across the PC industry and complicated pricing for hardware makers.

The new world model builds on Genie 3 with improved realism, more natural human movement, and better simulations of real-world physics. It could eventually help with everything from game development to training robots.
Apple has an incredible talent for making me admire its products while simultaneously questioning what on earth it's thinking with the pricing. This isn't even something as bizarre as a monitor stand, but the audacity for starting a new laptop lineup from $2,000 doesn't surprise me.
The newly announced 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 is just the latest to showcase this. The funny thing is, I already know that it's going to be a reliable workstation. You get a powerful new 2nm M6 processor, a gorgeous Liquid Retina XDR display, and up to 24 hours of battery life. We were impressed by the M5 MacBook Air, so the high-end M6 powered MacBook Pro definitely won't let us down.
