If you spend $400 on a desktop monitor and you look around long enough, you’re likely to get a display that’s roughly 27 inches in size, and sports a resolution of 1080p at the minimum. However, that’s not the case with AOC’s new G2460PQU monitor, though it does attempt to distinguish itself from the horde of other 24-inch monitors out there by offering a robust set of features.

First, let’s get the basics out of the way. AOC’s newest screen measures 24-inches and a native resolution of 1920×1080. From here though, it gets interesting.

The G2460PQU offers a refresh rate of 144 Hz, which is more than double the amount that most monitors offer (60 Hz). It also boasts a rated response time of 1ms, which is about as low as it gets. Most of the monitors in the $300-400 price range that we saw on Newegg offer 5ms at best. As for ports, it features HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, VGA, and four USB 2.0 connectors. One of the USB ports can charge devices as well. The G2460PQU wears a black bezel and is propped up by a stand sporting a circular base. The bottom of the bezel is adorned by a single red stripe below the AOC logo, though we find it distracting.

One of the most interesting aspects of the G2460PQU is the fact that it can be put in portrait mode. Whether that’s practical though is another matter, considering that AOC markets this monitor towards gamers. We’re not sure why PC gamers would want a monitor that can be placed in portrait mode.

The G2460PQU monitor is available now for $399.99. Whether that price tag is justified depends on whether you put a larger premium on features like the ones found here, or whether you would prefer a larger monitor with higher resolution.
