This year’s Cyber Monday deals have arrived with some great savings on a wide range of products. That includes some big price cuts on routers for anyone looking to upgrade their home network. These discounts will go perfectly alongside the Cyber Monday Alienware gaming laptop deals going on as well as more general Cyber Monday laptop deals. If you’re keen to be wire-free, this is your chance to do so at a great price, all while still enjoying the latest wireless technology. Besides seeking out the best router deals, we also have some insight into what to consider before buying one.
Offering coverage of up to 5,000 square feet for up to 75 devices, the Netgear Orbi Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System is great for larger homes. It has three gigabit ethernet ports on the router with an additional two on its satellite, while its Wi-Fi provides unparalleled service. It’s simple to set up too thanks to its intuitive app.
The Eero 6 AX1800 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Router covers up to 1,500 square feet with Wi-Fi while supporting speeds of up to 900 Mbps. It’s perfect for waving goodbye to dead spots or buffering, with setup promising to take just minutes thanks to the Eero app being super easy to use. You can easily add other Eero products to extend the range too.
Offering speeds of up to 1,200 Mbps on 5GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4GHz, the TP-Link AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Router also boasts extensive coverage thanks to its beam forming technology, 4 high-gain antennas, and an advanced front-end module. Supporting both Open VPN server and PPTP VPN server, as well as throwing in Alexa support makes it pretty feature rich for the price.
The Netgear Nighthawk AX3000 Router uses a 1.7GHz quad-core processor to provide smooth streaming, with its four Gigabit Ethernet ports proving handy alongside its four Wi-Fi streams for enhanced Wi-Fi performance. Designed with gamers in mind, it’s highly reliable and speedy, while the Nighthawk app makes it easy to manage.
Looking like an art installation, the TP-Link Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router BE550 also packs the latest networking technology being a Wi-Fi 7 router. It offers a 6GHz band as well as 5GHz and 2.4GHZ with speeds of up to 5,760 Mbps. There are also full 2.5G WAN and LAN ports. The router packs in a lot of high-end features like VPN client and server support, a private IoT network, and TP-Link HomeShield for comprehensive network protection.
Buying one of the best routers is one of the best things you can do if you work from home or you simply use the internet a lot throughout the day. By using a router with newer protocols such as Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7, you get a more reliable service. You also get more features so you can control your network more accurately, as well as options like Alexa voice controls.
In all cases though, it’s important to think about how much you need those extras. It can work out better to buy something cheaper so that you get reliability without spending a fortune. That’s why we’ve featured a variety of different options in different price ranges. Besides routers, think about the best mesh Wi-Fi systems if you need a network for a large home. That way, you won’t suffer from any dead spots where the signal isn’t very strong.
We don’t just look for good deals around Cyber Monday — we seek these out every day of the year. When it comes to router deals, we know what we’re doing. We know which retailers are worth checking in on regularly, and we also know which routers are worth buying. Home networking technology changes fast, and it’s worth spending more to keep up. We make sure to only feature the routers that we would want to use ourselves or that we would recommend to friends and family. That way, you get the best router at the best price.
Acer’s Predator Atlas 8 finally has a US release date and price, several months after the company first showed off the handheld in May. The highlight is the Intel Arc G3 Extreme chip inside, which has been adopted by only a couple of other consoles besides the Atlas 8. This version will go on sale exclusively at Best Buy on November 1 for $1,299.99.
Acer originally said the Atlas 8 would arrive in North America in October, but left pricing open at the time. The launch came amid the ongoing DRAM crunch, which has made memory more expensive across the PC industry and complicated pricing for hardware makers.
Google DeepMind's AI world model Genie 4 can now build interactive worlds that you can explore and reshape as they run. It also generates ambient sounds, music, and dialogue that respond to your actions.
The new world model builds on Genie 3 with improved realism, more natural human movement, and better simulations of real-world physics. It could eventually help with everything from game development to training robots.
Apple has an incredible talent for making me admire its products while simultaneously questioning what on earth it's thinking with the pricing. This isn't even something as bizarre as a monitor stand, but the audacity for starting a new laptop lineup from $2,000 doesn't surprise me.
The newly announced 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 is just the latest to showcase this. The funny thing is, I already know that it's going to be a reliable workstation. You get a powerful new 2nm M6 processor, a gorgeous Liquid Retina XDR display, and up to 24 hours of battery life. We were impressed by the M5 MacBook Air, so the high-end M6 powered MacBook Pro definitely won't let us down.
