At its core, the Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite is a solidly-constructed gaming mouse with low latency, up to 18,000 DPI movements, and four-zone RGB backlighting. Its construction is familiar, yet refined, and will fit comfortably under your palm and fingers.

Of course, the thing that elevates the Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite from a good mouse to an “Elite” mouse is the programmable buttons. There are 17 in total, but that’s admittedly a bit of a stretch. It’s great that you can program the right and left mouse buttons, the scroll wheel, and the two buttons sitting below the scroll wheel, of course, but it’s really the 12 buttons on the side that anyone should get excited about. They’re arranged into three rows and four columns in a way that adapts to the curvature of the mouse and hand; no accidental presses from a grazing thumb over upraised buttons. Furthermore, the panel can be adapted to your thumb length, as it slides forward to back. If you mainly just use three buttons, you might slide it to where your thumb rests comfortably near the 1, 2, and 3, for instance. Or, if you’re a full 12 button maniac, you can slide the panel more forward to comfortably rest between the 5 and the 8.
