Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin are not only incredibly popular these days, but potentially lucrative endeavors for those serious about mining any of those alternative, digital (…and unregulated…) currencies. In fact, the hardware used to mine these cryto-currencies is so popular and seemingly in such high demand lately that AMD’s Radeon R9 290X graphics cards aren’t exactly easy to find, and those that are available are selling for significantly more than the original price.

On top of that, some PCI-Express cards specifically designed to mine alternative currencies are selling for significantly higher rates on eBay than if you but them directly from their manufacturer. Butterfly Labs’ GH 600 Bitcoin Mining Card is one of those cards.

Though Butterfly Labs has priced the GH 600 for $2,196 directly from their site, one listing on eBay has the same card priced at $3,399, plus $69.99 for shipping. That’s a price hike of over 50 percent. You may be thinking something along the lines of “Who would pay that?!,” but the GH 600 card currently has 8 watchers. This comes after certain high-end AMD cards experienced substantial price hikes and shortages after a reported surge in sales due to its popularity with Litecoin miners.

The Butterfly Labs GH 600 comes in PCI-Express format, occupies a pair of expansion slots, and features USB 2.0. Though an exact release date has not been revealed, it is currently available for pre-order and will be released sometime this coming April.
