One of the nifty features of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is its ever-changing seasons that are a reflection of the real world. When it’s summer in real life, it’s summer in Animal Crossing, meaning there are always new things to enjoy as you play. As each month goes by, the selection of fish that appear throughout the game changes, so you’ll always want to be aware of the selection for any given month.
Sometimes, certain fish are only available for a few months out of the year, while others appear more frequently. It’s also important to consider which hemisphere you’re in, as this will impact the fish that appear in your area. For the month of November 2022, New Horizons has a lot of changes with its fish selection, and below, we’ll cover everything you need to know about the new additions.
Fishing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons isn’t too complicated, but there are some things you should be aware of. For starters, each fish will give you some indication of its presence, such as a shadow or fin. The size of the fish’s shadow is indicative of how big the fish is — which makes sense. So, if you’re prioritizing a specific fish that happens to be large, you can safely skip over the smaller shadows.
To fish, you need to have a fishing rod, which can be purchased from Nook’s Cranny (or crafted). Approach a body of water, such as a river, pond, or sea, and look for a shadow to appear. Typically, these shadows will indicate the presence of a fish, but sometimes you’ll only get trash instead. Throw your line at the fish’s shadow, let it sit for a few moments, and as soon as it “plops” down, reel in the line. If timed correctly, you’ll catch the fish. In addition, if you’re playing on a normal Nintendo Switch (as opposed to the Switch Lite), you’ll feel a vibration indicating it’s time to reel in the fish. As part of the 2.0 update that went live on November 4, 2021, you can also sometimes think of a new cooking recipe depending on the fish you catch.
Keep in mind that you can always sell your fish at Nook’s Cranny, but once a week, CJ comes to your island, and he actually offers more bells than you’d get otherwise, so it pays to sell to him instead. You must finish CJ’s fishing challenge before he’ll accept fish from you. CJ will appear anywhere around your island, so keep an eye out for him as you explore.
For the month of November, the Northern Hemisphere has a long list of changes. Notably, the snapping turtle, catfish, tilapia, angelfish, betta, and many others have left. Replacing them are the bitterling, blowfish, tuna, blue marlin, and football fish, so keep this in mind as you fish.
As for the Southern Hemisphere, the dab, tuna, and blue marlin are no longer available. New are the frog, catfish, nibblefish, angelfish, betta, and others.
Below are the full lists of changes for both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres:
Imagine tapping a Zelda icon on your iPhone and jumping straight into Hyrule. A new open-source project called nxnative makes that possible by repackaging Switch games you’ve bought into apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with no emulator in the middle.
Why does this run so well on Apple devices?
The Call of Duty franchise has held a special place in my heart ever since I played my first Black Ops game back in 2010. That game's campaign was something else, with twists and turns that culminated in a mind-blowing finale. We can all admit that compared to those older campaigns, the recent CODs have been lackluster at best, and a complete and utter disappointment at worst. The reboot of Modern Warfare did give me some hope, as the first two installments were actually quite good, but the third game left such a bad taste in my mouth that I wasn’t exactly expecting much from Modern Warfare 4.
After recently finishing the campaign, I can say that this installment is nothing like the recent releases and instead feels closer to the franchise’s roots. For the first time in a long while, the campaign comes across as well-crafted rather than rushed to hit a release date. It arrives three years after MW3, and you can see exactly where all that time went. It seems the studio finally made listening to player feedback a priority.
Epic Games has just announced the 2026 Epic AI MegaJam, which is looking to see how much game development can be squeezed into a very short window. This is running from November 12 through November 15.
Participants can work alone or in teams of up to five people, build in Unreal Engine or Unreal Editor for Fortnite, and bring along “as many AI agents as you want.” Epic explicitly encourages coding agents, AI-generated assets, audio tools, writing tools, and other AI systems. The official event page literally says "Vibe your way to $50k.”
