Bad news BioShock fans: you won’t be able to stream to your friends and followers on Twitch.

After users noticed that BioShock: The Collection could not be streamed, they took to 2K’s forums to learn that the feature is currently not supported.

A 2K representative replied in the forum saying, “If you’re playing BioShock: The Collection, there’s a good chance you’d like to stream your adventures in Rapture and/or Columbia. Unfortunately, streaming BioShock: The Collection isn’t an option right now. We will update this article should this situation change.”

It is definitely an odd omission, considering PlayStation 4 and Xbox One streaming is almost native to consoles. It turns out, developers have control whether their games can be streamed or not. While 2K’s statement on the matter does not suggest the feature was blocked or removed completely, there is hope streaming support could be added in the future.

This is may be the first notable instance of a game lacking streaming support for its gameplay. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes prevented users from streaming certain cutscenes in an attempt to block spoilers. Sony also blocked users from archiving streams of Until Dawn on Twitch, possibly in an attempt to encourage people to buy the game.

BioShock: The Collection is not the first game to lack full streaming support. Early into the launch of the PS4, Sony removed streaming support for Playroom after it was found users on Twitch were uploading footage that was not safe for work. Because playroom used the PlayStation Camera to record people’s movements, some gamers used it for inappropriate purposes.

Digital Trends reached out to developer Blind Squirrel Entertainment and 2K Games and will update this article upon reply.
