How much would you pay to in the big screen adaptation of a popular video game? Dying Light developer Techland believes the answer is $10 million. The developer and UK retailer GAME unveiled Dying Light: Spotlight Edition, a one-of-a-kind collector’s edition that includes a speaking role in an upcoming film version of the parkour- and zombie-heavy 2015 first-person action game Thursday.
The exorbitantly expensive offering comes alongside a pair of new, regularly priced Dying Light products; a free downloadable update, Dying Light: The Following, and a retail re-release, Dying Light: Enhanced Edition, which compiles the game and post-release DLC on a disc for $60.
According to a promotional image — see below — the wealthiest, most die-hard Dying Light fan in the world will get a “supporting role” in the film, acting lessons from voice actor Roger Craig Smith, best known for his work as Ezio in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, parkour and driving stunt training, a signed copy of the script, the opportunity to get professionally zombified by a make-up artist, and paid trips to attend all of the film’s international premieres.
The package also includes the opportunity to record dialogue for Dying Light protagonist Kyle Crane in an upcoming “special edition” of the game, and four copies of Dying Light: Enhanced Edition, signed by members of the development team.
Now before you run off and start selling everything you own to raise money for this, it’s worth pointing out that this is the first public mention of a film based on Dying Light. Then again, the developer presumably has strong ties to the film industry thanks to the game’s publisher, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
This is not the first ridiculously expensive Dying Light collector’s edition, either. Techland offered a $386,000 “special edition” of the game when it was first released, which came with parkour lessons, a life-size zombie statue, and the chance to have an enemy’s face modeled to look like the customer.
If you’re interested in purchasing the package you can contact the retailer through their website.

I’ve played every major Zelda game, here’s what The Legend of Zelda movie needs to get right
In terms of iconic pop culture heroes, Link is up there with Luke Skywalker, Frodo Baggins, and Superman. While Benjamin Evan Ainsworth has proven himself capable enough to lead The Legend of Zelda's cast, adapting Link’s character for the big screen is a challenge. For much of the Zelda franchise, Link is depicted as a silent protagonist who serves as a stand-in for the player. However, that doesn't mean Link isn't a unique character. Each version of Link has a distinct story, but they are all known for their incredible courage, loyalty, and dedication to protecting the innocent. However, he has also shown many times that he can be silly, reckless, rageful, guilty, and tempted by greed. Link doesn’t necessarily have to speak in the film to appeal to audiences. However, he just can't be a one-dimensional fantasy hero. We have to see how multifaceted a person Link is as he grows and reacts to everything, carrying such a heavy burden as the Hero of Hyrule. Zelda should share the adventure with Link
