Attention Destiny fans who haven’t yet joined the current console generation: Your time is up. Developer Bungie has released its final patch for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Destiny as it shifts its focus toward the game’s Xbox One and PlayStation 4 ports.

This week’s patch release will be the game’s final update for legacy platforms, and any stragglers who want to experience new Destiny content will need to pony up the cash for an Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

Though no new content will be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Destiny from today onward, Bungie notes that it will continue to support legacy consoles with “emergency fixes for future game-breaking issues,” ensuring that existing content will remain accessible for longtime players. The game’s multiplayer servers will also remain active across all platforms, meaning that Destiny‘s co-op and competitive content is still playable on legacy consoles for the time being.

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players looking forward to Destiny‘s upcoming “Rise of Iron” expansion are out of luck, however, as Bungie previously announced that the add-on will be available exclusively for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Promised additions like the rebalanced Gjallarhorn weapon and a uniquely themed Sparrow vehicle are the first of many new features that legacy console players will miss out on.

All future maps, modes, events, raids, and balance tweaks will also be exclusive to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Destiny going forward.

While many PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will bid a fond farewell to Destiny this week, Xbox One and PS4 owners will see an array of minor tweaks with the launch of today’s patch. The Apotheosis Veil helmet is now accessible in the game’s shopping district, and Solar-based damage effects have been increased across the board to match their intended strength. Issues affecting Super energy buildup and weekly activity time slots have also been addressed, among other fixes.

Destiny‘s “Rise of Iron” expansion will launch for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 20.

In terms of iconic pop culture heroes, Link is up there with Luke Skywalker, Frodo Baggins, and Superman. While Benjamin Evan Ainsworth has proven himself capable enough to lead The Legend of Zelda's cast, adapting Link’s character for the big screen is a challenge. For much of the Zelda franchise, Link is depicted as a silent protagonist who serves as a stand-in for the player. However, that doesn't mean Link isn't a unique character. Each version of Link has a distinct story, but they are all known for their incredible courage, loyalty, and dedication to protecting the innocent. However, he has also shown many times that he can be silly, reckless, rageful, guilty, and tempted by greed. Link doesn’t necessarily have to speak in the film to appeal to audiences. However, he just can't be a one-dimensional fantasy hero. We have to see how multifaceted a person Link is as he grows and reacts to everything, carrying such a heavy burden as the Hero of Hyrule. Zelda should share the adventure with Link

But a creator behind the YouTube channel Will It Work? decided to test that limit with a clever workaround. Using an unusual optical drive, he managed to trick the PS5 into reading CDs as if they were USB storage devices.
