Fortnite Grapple Gloves: where to find them and how they work

This fan-favorite mobility item has made a return to ensure that players can once again move rapidly across the battle royale map. Here's what you need to know.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 has been a wild ride for fans of jungle exploration, but it has also been one of the game’s least mobile seasons. As we inch closer to next month’s Season 4, though, Epic seems ready to reintroduce some movement opportunities to players by bringing back the beloved Grapple Glove.

Arguably the game’s most popular mobility item, the Grapple Glove is certain to please fans everywhere by providing a much faster way to move around the battle royale map (which can be the key to winning). Here’s what you need to know about the return of this exciting tool.

The Grapple Glove has 30 charges and can be found on the ground and in chests, so rounding one up shouldn’t pose too much of a problem. It’s an Epic rarity item, which should make spotting one a little bit easier due to its bright purple glow.

Once you’ve obtained a Grapple Glove, you’ll now be free to use it to quickly move around the map. You can do this by equipping it and then connecting to the white grappling spots that show up on many surfaces, which will propel you toward that object. Once you’re in the air, you can quickly swing to other surfaces and structures to maintain mobility, allowing you to rapidly cover ground – though it’s worth noting that it takes a few swings to reach maximum speed. We’d recommend grappling to spots that are higher off the ground so you can get plenty of space to continue your movement.

Note, however, that if you fail to connect to a new surface within a few seconds of using the Grapple Glove, you’ll incur a cooldown that will keep you from using it again for some time. This cooldown will also begin if you’re shot while swinging around, so make sure you exercise caution and time your escapes or advances properly to account for this possibility.

The Call of Duty franchise has held a special place in my heart ever since I played my first Black Ops game back in 2010. That game's campaign was something else, with twists and turns that culminated in a mind-blowing finale. We can all admit that compared to those older campaigns, the recent CODs have been lackluster at best, and a complete and utter disappointment at worst. The reboot of Modern Warfare did give me some hope, as the first two installments were actually quite good, but the third game left such a bad taste in my mouth that I wasn’t exactly expecting much from Modern Warfare 4.

After recently finishing the campaign, I can say that this installment is nothing like the recent releases and instead feels closer to the franchise’s roots. For the first time in a long while, the campaign comes across as well-crafted rather than rushed to hit a release date. It arrives three years after MW3, and you can see exactly where all that time went. It seems the studio finally made listening to player feedback a priority.

Epic Games has just announced the 2026 Epic AI MegaJam, which is looking to see how much game development can be squeezed into a very short window. This is running from November 12 through November 15.

Participants can work alone or in teams of up to five people, build in Unreal Engine or Unreal Editor for Fortnite, and bring along “as many AI agents as you want.” Epic explicitly encourages coding agents, AI-generated assets, audio tools, writing tools, and other AI systems. The official event page literally says "Vibe your way to $50k.”

It’s turning into a pretty good time to be a Monster Hunter fan who plays on a phone. Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Outlanders will launch on Android and iOS on October 29, giving the series a new mobile-first game just as Monster Hunter Rise is also preparing to make the jump to smartphones through Netflix.

Outlanders is being developed by Tencent subsidiary TiMi Studio Group under license and supervision from Capcom. Unlike Rise, which appears to be the full console and PC game adapted for mobile, Outlanders is a free-to-play survival hunting game made specifically for phones.
