When Microsoft revealed that the upcoming Forza Horizon 3 would feature more than 350, you knew it was going to have to dig pretty deep.
Turn 10 has announced the last batch of cars coming to Forza Horizon 3, and it includes the 1972 Reliant Supervan III, as well as the 1946 Ford Super Deluxe Station Wagon.
Forza Horizon is the more arcade-like offshoot of the series. It features large open worlds with activities outside of just racing. In the lead-up to Horizon 3’s release later this year, Turn 10 has been revealing a bunch of cars that will be coming to the game.
The most unique car headlining the list is the 1972 Reliant Supervan III. It’s a three-wheeled British car made to circumvent England’s car tax. Since it technically qualifies as a motorcycle, it’s much cheaper to own. It’s also not very fast. Under the hood is an engine that only produces 29 horsepower.
“We are delighted that the vehicle is included” said Elvis Payne of the Reliant Motor Club. “Whilst Reliants are often seen as a joke to many, they still have a strong following, and the inclusion of the Supervan shows just how much these vehicles continue to excite.”
The Reliant Robin was made famous by British motoring show Top Gear. In it, former host Jeremy Clarkson had to trek across town with one goal — to not die. Because of the Reliant’s three-wheel design, it’s possible for the car to flip over. It was a funny, albeit somewhat staged segment that really put this oddball car on the world stage.
Also coming to Horizon 3 is an American icon — the 1946 Ford Super Deluxe Station Wagon. Commonly referred to as a “woodie,” it is known for its various wood trims and is often shown carrying surfboards.
Because Horizon 3 will take place in Australia, it only makes sense that some off-roaders be included as well. The 2015 Alumni Class 10 Race Car will also be making it to the game.
