Although Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 have improved significantly since launch, both games are still packed with issues. Some are minor, while others are more complex, with everything in between. One recent issue is error code 2901, which has prevented users from actually getting into both games. In this guide, we’ll show you how to fix this pesky error code so you can dive into Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0.
Error code 2901 essentially prevents you from connecting to the Call of Duty servers. This disallows you from getting into the game and has caused lots of issues recently. This error code seems to appear more frequently when the game is updated, which leads to an uptick in player count. Busy servers can often cause this error code to appear, but what can you do to fix it?
This is a simple solution but one that works frequently. Simply close out of the application and restart your system or PC to try for a workaround. If the issue is serverside, this won’t always do the trick, but it’s worth trying at first.
Since this error happens more frequently when an update goes live, it’s possible you might’ve forgotten to install the latest update. Close out of the game, check for updates, and install them if need be. Then try launching into the game to see if this fixes the error.
On rare occasions, you may need to reinstall content packs to get around the 2901 error code. Modern Warfare 2 allows you to install content in different parts, and some of this content may be corrupted — leading to the error code. Try reinstalling the Multiplayer Pack or the Warzone 2 pack to potentially fix the error.
If all else fails, this error is likely an issue on the game’s side and could require you to wait it out. Be sure to check the official Trello board to see if and when issues are addressed.
Acer’s Predator Atlas 8 finally has a US release date and price, several months after the company first showed off the handheld in May. The highlight is the Intel Arc G3 Extreme chip inside, which has been adopted by only a couple of other consoles besides the Atlas 8. This version will go on sale exclusively at Best Buy on November 1 for $1,299.99.
Acer originally said the Atlas 8 would arrive in North America in October, but left pricing open at the time. The launch came amid the ongoing DRAM crunch, which has made memory more expensive across the PC industry and complicated pricing for hardware makers.
Gaming laptops and I have a complicated relationship. One of my first gaming rigs was an Acer Predator that was already outdated when I bought it. I was a broke college kid, and that was the best I could afford. So trying out high-end gaming laptops is always fun. But ASUS' ROG Zephyrus G14 is a lot more than a laptop that can run AAA games. It is portable, so you're not lugging around a 2.5kg machine everywhere you go. It is built well, none of that plastic chassis, and can even function as a normal laptop outside of just gaming.
Google Play is borrowing one of the Nintendo Switch’s most useful little tricks. A new Sidekick tool called Playbacks captures a short clip after something interesting has already happened, sparing players from running a screen recorder throughout an entire game.
Playbacks is part of Google Play Store v53.8 and keeps saved clips on the phone. Google first announced it earlier this month, but the new Play Store update marks its arrival for players. Anyone who has watched a perfect win vanish because the record button came too late already understands the appeal.
