Is Marvel Cosmic Invasion cross-platform?

What good is an old-school, arcade brawler without friends to play it with? Marvel Cosmic Invasion looks like a classic ‘Quarter Muncher’, but it’s playable from the comfort of your own home on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC, complete with local co-op for up to four players (if you have the controllers for it).

Still, a bit like combining Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men, and Avengers, can you could on cross-platform support? Online co-op is included as you punch, kick, and throw your way through the campaign, but can you team up with other mighty heroes on other platforms? We’ve got the full information on crossplay and cross-progression below.

Yes, Marvel Cosmic Invasion does indeed have cross-platform support. Featuring a roster of 15 heroes from across the Marvel universe, players on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC can enjoy drop-in, drop-out co-op regardless of platform. Even though Marvel Cosmic Invasion does feature a unique tag system where each player can swap between two heroes, this is a game that is best enjoyed with friends working together and pulling off heroic combos on the enemies. You can still enjoy the game alone, but you shouldn’t have to thanks to it being available on both current and last-gen consoles.

There has been no official word on whether Marvel Cosmic Invasion has any form of cross-progression, but given it launches in just a few short weeks at the time of writing on December 1, we don’t have long to find out. Still, I’d be very surprised if it was since we’ve known for a while about cross-play, but the studio has remained tight-lipped on cross-save.

Of course, we’ll hope to be surprised, and as soon as we hear either way (or get our costumed mitts on the game), we’ll be sure to update this page.
