The Nintendo Switch 2 seems expensive, this deal makes the original a great value

Why wait for the $450 Nintendo Switch 2 when you can get a Nintendo Switch OLED for $275?

There’s been a lot of news lately about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, with Nintendo Switch 2 Direct going live just yesterday. The Nintendo Switch 2 is going to retail for $450, which might feel somewhat expensive if you already have a phone to play games on. Luckily, we’ve found a deal that drops an OLED Nintendo Switch down to just $275. That’s $74 down from its usual $349 price and $175 lower than what the Nintendo Switch 2 will cost.

One slight catch that might make you nervous is that it is the Japanese version, but don’t worry — nothing is region locked and you can still set everything up in English (let’s face it, you probably weren’t going to read the instruction manual anyhow). Tap the button below to go check out the Nintendo Switch deal or keep reading to see our thoughts on it.

One of the big things about the Nintendo Switch OLED is that it is an upgrade of the Nintendo Switch (not OLED). And that’s going to impact just about everything you read about it. By almost necessity our Nintendo Switch OLED review reads like our Switch OLED vs Switch article. Some things just are, while others have to justify themselves. The Nintendo Switch OLED is in that latter category and it does so chiefly by having an improved screen (surprise, it is OLED!) and better on-board sound. Essentially, the Nintendo Switch OLED is great for Switch players that like handheld mode. If you’re less familiar with the console line, it may be beneficial to check out our Nintendo Switch review for the non-OLED version, which looks at the console without being burdened by the context of… itself.

Naturally, a console is just an electric screen without games. So, be sure to check out our recently updated list of the best Switch games (maintained by Jesse Lenox) or a retrospective of the best Switch games of 2024 coming from Giovanna Colantonio. And, if you’re all about that budget goodness, know that you can enjoy your Switch without paying a cent more with great free Nintendo Switch games.

Once again, you can get a Nintendo Switch OLED for $275 when you order now. That’s $74 down from its usual price of $349 and $175 from the expected Nintendo Switch 2 cost. Getting this deal saves you both money and the wait for the Switch 2, making it a great deal from both a money perspective and a psychological one. Tap the button below to get this while you still can.

The Call of Duty franchise has held a special place in my heart ever since I played my first Black Ops game back in 2010. That game's campaign was something else, with twists and turns that culminated in a mind-blowing finale. We can all admit that compared to those older campaigns, the recent CODs have been lackluster at best, and a complete and utter disappointment at worst. The reboot of Modern Warfare did give me some hope, as the first two installments were actually quite good, but the third game left such a bad taste in my mouth that I wasn’t exactly expecting much from Modern Warfare 4.

After recently finishing the campaign, I can say that this installment is nothing like the recent releases and instead feels closer to the franchise’s roots. For the first time in a long while, the campaign comes across as well-crafted rather than rushed to hit a release date. It arrives three years after MW3, and you can see exactly where all that time went. It seems the studio finally made listening to player feedback a priority.

Epic Games has just announced the 2026 Epic AI MegaJam, which is looking to see how much game development can be squeezed into a very short window. This is running from November 12 through November 15.

Participants can work alone or in teams of up to five people, build in Unreal Engine or Unreal Editor for Fortnite, and bring along “as many AI agents as you want.” Epic explicitly encourages coding agents, AI-generated assets, audio tools, writing tools, and other AI systems. The official event page literally says "Vibe your way to $50k.”

It’s turning into a pretty good time to be a Monster Hunter fan who plays on a phone. Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Outlanders will launch on Android and iOS on October 29, giving the series a new mobile-first game just as Monster Hunter Rise is also preparing to make the jump to smartphones through Netflix.

Outlanders is being developed by Tencent subsidiary TiMi Studio Group under license and supervision from Capcom. Unlike Rise, which appears to be the full console and PC game adapted for mobile, Outlanders is a free-to-play survival hunting game made specifically for phones.
