Umbrella Corps, a third-person shooter set in the Resident Evil universe, is set to launch exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms in May, publisher Capcom announced today.
Capcom also revealed new Umbrella Corps gameplay details, announcing that the game will include a single-player component in addition to a collection of competitive multiplayer modes.
Developed by Capcom’s Osaka studio, Umbrella Corps is a digital-only third-person shooter that focuses on squad-based combat. Up to six players compete in fast-paced multiplayer matches across maps swarming with AI-controlled zombies and other undead creatures, giving the game an unpredictable edge.
Though it was previously announced that Umbrella Corps would not feature a single-player story campaign, solo players can take on a series of exclusive challenges in the newly unveiled “The Experiment” mode. Described as a practice mode in which players can “hone their skills as they familiarize themselves with the world of Umbrella Corps,” The Experiment patterns itself after the “Horde Mode” gameplay variant seen in Gears of War 2 and other shooters.
The Experiment features 20 missions in which players must complete assigned objectives while fending off endless waves of enemies. In The Experiment, players do not have access to a key zombie-repelling item featured in other gameplay modes within Umbrella Corps, leaving them vulnerable to attacks from AI opponents.
Umbrella Corps‘ multiplayer component features a collection of maps inspired by locations from previous Resident Evil games, including the opening village from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5‘s Tricell compound. Each map features uniquely themed enemy types in addition to stage-specific hazards. Announced multiplayer modes include standard variants like deathmatch and team deathmatch, along with a unique “One Life Match” mode which limits player respawns.
Umbrella Corps will be priced at $30 when it hits the PlayStation Store and Steam in May of 2016.

Is Rust cross-platform?
The answer to the question is simple in one way and annoying in another. Rust supports crossplay between PlayStation and Xbox players, but PC players cannot play with console players. So yes, there is cross-platform support, but only inside the console version of the game.
