Start your 57th character when ‘Skyrim VR’ hits Rift and Vive this April

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR will be making its way to the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive this April through SteamVR. The virtual reality version of the game was previously only available on PlayStation VR

You’ve played The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on your Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation VR already, and you would probably play it on your toaster if you could. That isn’t possible (yet), but you will be able to play the game on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in less than a month.

On April 3, Skyrim VR will release on the SteamVR platform, giving users the chance to play the game using the Rift, Vive, or a Windows Mixed Reality headset.

“Whether you’re a longtime fan or [are] taking on the mantle of the Dragonborn for the first time, Skyrim VR for SteamVR promises an epic journey in virtual reality across a massive world for you to explore any way you choose,” Bethesda said in the announcement.

Skyrim VR for SteamVR contains the entire Skyrim experience — the base game plus the Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn expansions, so you won’t miss out on any content from previous versions of the game. These expansions were also included in the PlayStation VR release, which you can find for slightly less than the SteamVR version’s $60 price tag.

You’ll be able to use either motion-tracking controllers or a traditional gamepad in Skyrim VR, as well, so your dreams of truly becoming the Dragonborn can finally be realized … at least until you accidentally stick your arm through your computer monitor.

Oddly, Fallout 4 VR doesn’t appear to be jumping platforms. The game came out last year as an HTC Vive exclusive, disappointing PlayStation 4 owners who had already played through the original version of the game on their console. Doom VFR, an all-new game rather than a reworked version of 2016’s Doom, is available on all three platforms, as well.

We have a feeling Bethesda isn’t done bringing its properties to virtual reality. Since Wolfenstein II is coming to Nintendo Switch already, it seems like it would be technically feasible. With the addition of the new first-person mode in The Evil Within 2, that game also seems like a great fit for the headsets, though we fear it might actually be a little too scary for us.

Imagine tapping a Zelda icon on your iPhone and jumping straight into Hyrule. A new open-source project called nxnative makes that possible by repackaging Switch games you’ve bought into apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with no emulator in the middle.

Why does this run so well on Apple devices?

The Call of Duty franchise has held a special place in my heart ever since I played my first Black Ops game back in 2010. That game's campaign was something else, with twists and turns that culminated in a mind-blowing finale. We can all admit that compared to those older campaigns, the recent CODs have been lackluster at best, and a complete and utter disappointment at worst. The reboot of Modern Warfare did give me some hope, as the first two installments were actually quite good, but the third game left such a bad taste in my mouth that I wasn’t exactly expecting much from Modern Warfare 4.

After recently finishing the campaign, I can say that this installment is nothing like the recent releases and instead feels closer to the franchise’s roots. For the first time in a long while, the campaign comes across as well-crafted rather than rushed to hit a release date. It arrives three years after MW3, and you can see exactly where all that time went. It seems the studio finally made listening to player feedback a priority.

Epic Games has just announced the 2026 Epic AI MegaJam, which is looking to see how much game development can be squeezed into a very short window. This is running from November 12 through November 15.

Participants can work alone or in teams of up to five people, build in Unreal Engine or Unreal Editor for Fortnite, and bring along “as many AI agents as you want.” Epic explicitly encourages coding agents, AI-generated assets, audio tools, writing tools, and other AI systems. The official event page literally says "Vibe your way to $50k.”
