Have you ever dreamed of living off the grid? Maybe you want to own a cabin in the mountains somewhere, with nothing but beautiful views and wild animals to command your attention during the day. Of course, you’d have electricity and running water — everything would just be solar-powered. The GoSun Dream makes this a reality for many people, albeit with a steep price tag.
The GoSun Dream is a 195-square-foot tiny home that aims to be completely sustainable on nothing but solar power. The Dream is designed to be rugged, durable, and most importantly, portable. You’ll be able to hook it to the back of a vehicle and take it with you anywhere you go.
Many tiny homes cater to more rugged lifestyles, but the Dream doesn’t compromise comfort. A solar awning helps keep residents cool when they’re outdoors, while a highly efficient ceiling fan keeps things cool inside.
The Dream offers a number of other advantages, too — like the ability to plug into more than 13,000 different RV resorts across the country. Water, electricity, heating, and cooling are all generated onboard, while other necessities are met through a low-maintenance composting toilet. The GoSun Dream is equipped with Energy Star appliances for better efficiency, and an outdoor solar kitchen expands the total livable area. The Dream might be tiny, but it is capable of sleeping up to four adults.
The Dream uses a 1.4k-kilowatt solar photovoltaic array and has 4kWH of energy storage. The entire tiny home weighs roughly 12,000 pounds and sits on a dual axle trailer that allows most consumer trucks to easily transport it.
Interested? The GoSun Dream will set you back a cool $70,000, but an RV can cost almost that much. Combined with the solar array and the host of features the Dream offers, it’s not a bad price.
Whether you’re looking for a vacation home to park somewhere year-round or a portable home you can take with you on all of your adventures, the GoSun Dream is definitely an interesting proposition. It cuts down your carbon footprint and gives you a way to have all of your necessities met — and you can haul it with your vehicle. GoSun is no stranger when it comes to solar power — the company has come out with an assortment of outdoor products like a coffee brewer, water purifier, and a grill.
