Roborock is constantly updating its lineup of robot vacuums, and the Qrevo Edge and Qrevo Slim are two of the newest additions to the family. These robot vacuum and mop combos are poised to be among the most premium options on the market, offering cool features you won’t find on other models. They also share many of the same specs — though there are a few key differences you need to know about before adding either to your home.

Here’s a closer look at the Roborock Qrevo Edge and Qrevo Slim to help you decide which is better for your floors.

Roborock has not yet revealed pricing information for these two robot vacuums. We’re expecting the Edge to be more expensive, however, as most of its specs are a step above the Slim. Both products feature similar designs, with exposed water reservoirs attached to the top of a rectangular base. They look great in person, and both should make a nice addition to any home.

Winner: Tie

The Roborock Qrevo Edge pumps out 18,500Pa of suction, making it one of the most powerful robot vacuums on the market. The Slim, meanwhile, tops out at 11,000Pa. The Edge has another advantage in the form of the DuoDivide Brush. This main roller brush is actually two separate roller brushes that collect and funnel hair to a central gap — eliminating nearly all tangles. By comparison, the Slim is using the older DuoRoller Brush, which works great but isn’t quite as fancy as the new DuoDivide.

Beyond those differences, much is shared between the two robots. You’ll get a swinging side brush to reach small crevices and improve your overall coverage area, automatic brush lifting when liquids are detected, and ultrasonic carpet sensing to better detect and clean your floors.

Both robots will automatically empty their dustbins at the docking station once the cleaning task is complete. The dustbin on the Edge clocks in at 325mL and the Slim is just 220mL, but Roborock says both will last up to seven weeks before you need to replace the docking station’s dustbag.

Most mopping specs are shared between the Edge and Slim. They’re equipped with dual rotating mopping pads, one of which can swing outward to clean around baseboards and furniture. They also benefit from auto mop lifting when carpet is detected. The Edge can lift its entire chassis 10mm and the mops another 10mm, while the Slim can only lift its mop 10mm.

The docking stations for the Edge and Slim can wash and dry the pads after each cleaning cycle, and they’ll even scan to see if another cleaning cycle is needed to remove stubborn debris. While the mops are being washed, a scrubber spins through the bottom of the dock itself, ensuring no dirt is left in the base between cleaning runs.

Winner: Roborock Qrevo Edge

The Edge and Slim use a built-in voice assistant (Rocky) so you can issue commands without needing to use your mobile app. They can also take snapshots of your pets to share with you, which is a fun feature if you have furry friends roaming your home.

You’ll get up to 240 minutes of runtime with the Edge and 180 minutes with the Slim. If you have a large home, the extra 60 minutes could be a big deal. But for smaller homes or apartments, either one should have plenty of juice to make it through a routine cleaning.

The navigation systems used are slightly different (LDS Laser for the Edge, 3D ToF Navigation for the Slim), but for most practical applications you’ll find both to be responsive and reliable.

Winner: Roborock Qrevo Edge

The Roborock Qrevo Edge shares many of the same specs as the Qrevo Slim. However, its significant boost in suction numbers and increased mop-lifting skills make the Edge a much better option for homes with carpet. Alternatively, if you’re just going to be using your robot as a mop, you can save a bit of cash by opting for the Qrevo Slim. Not only does it offer a similar mopping system but most hard floors don’t need the increased suction power of the Edge — which is largely designed to better tackle thick carpets.
