Elgato has optimized its EyeTV iPhone application to work with the iPad. The app allows users to watch and record live TV via a 3G or WiFi connection. While Eye TV is running on a Mac computer it converts live TV to the correct format for optimal streaming on the iPhone or iPad. Existing owners of the app can simply update their iPhone apps at no charge to add iPad support. For first time users the app costs $4.99, but Elgato also offers Live3G which is a free, stripped-down version of EyeTV for users who want a taste of the app before they purchase the full version.
