After months of speculation and the usual, never-ending swath of rumors, Apple unveiled the long-awaited iPhone 5S alongside the budget-based iPhone 5C at a special media event in its hometown of Cupertino, California. The iPhone 5S is aesthetically the same as the iPhone 5, aside from the new gold color offering, and like its predecessor, dons a 4-inch screen coupled with a native resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels.

It touts supposedly the world’s first 64-bit A7 processing — rendering it twice as fast as the iPhone 5 — and includes a dual LED flash and biometric fingerprint sensor with a surface constructed of laser-cut sapphire crystal. It also weighs less than a quarter pound, measures roughly 0.3 inches thick and made of high-grade aluminum

It’s available in gold, silver, and wait for it, space gray. We’re just going to assume the “S” stands for speed. The iPhone 5S launches on Sept. 20 for $200 (16GB), $300 ($32GB) and $400 (64GB) respectively. Still, it appears the 5C is taking the color crown.
