Though he hires a famous actor (Elle Fanning) to lead his film, Gustav struggles to complete his film and reconcile with Nora. We then see father and daughter unearth and confront their family’s generational trauma as they try to create a work of art together.

The Secret Agent follows Brazilian tech professor Armando (Wagner Moura) as he tries to flee from his country’s authoritarian regime in 1977. He also tries to reunite with his son, Fernando (Enzo Nunes), in the city of Recife so they can escape together.
While Carnival kicks off in the city, things heat up even more when two hitmen arrive in Recife. With these assassins hot on his tail, Armando must navigate a fever dream of oppression and paranoia in order to escape Brazil with his son.

Real-life couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie lead this acclaimed body horror film. In it, Tim (Franco) and Millie (Brie) struggle to hold onto their relationship after the death of Tim’s parents and Millie’s failed marriage proposal. It’s as rough as one can expect, but they try to make it work as they move to the countryside.
But while hiking in the woods near their new home, they fall into an underground tunnel where a supernatural force alters their relationship forever. As Tim and Millie’s bodies become drawn to each other, literally fusing together, the couple races to find a cure before they merge completely.
Directed by Wes Ball, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes takes place hundreds of years after intelligent apes became Earth’s dominant species. We follow young chimp Noa (Owen Teague) when his entire clan is kidnapped by raiders who serve the tyrannical ape, Proximus Caesar (Kevin Durand).
Setting out into the post-apocalyptic wilderness, Noa teams up with the wise orangutan Raka (Peter Macon) and the human Mae (Freya Allen) to rescue his village. Once they arrive at Proximus’s fortress, they uncover secrets that could forever change how apes and humans coexist.

Based on Stephen King’s novella, director Mike Flanagan’s film opens with schoolteacher Marty (Chiwetel Ejiofor) living in a world on the brink of destruction. The film then takes us back in time to explore Chuck’s life, from his childhood as an aspiring dancer (Benjamin Pajak) to his adulthood as an accountant. Through that, The Life of Chuck presents a heartwarming celebration of human existence as one man embraces life, even in its darkest moments.

Though she tries to leave town, Brynn discovers the aliens have infected and brainwashed the residents. Trapped and alone, Brynn must fight off the aliens before they close in on her.

Prey is a propulsive and blood-soaked nail-biter of an action film, and one that could effectively stand alone as a singular entity. But in this case, it’s a new entry in a much-loved franchise, and it’s one we’re betting will make plenty of fans happy.
Director Armando Iannucci’s The Death of Stalin is a riotous black comedy exploring the demise of one of history’s worst dictators. Specifically, it follows the members of Stalin’s (Adrian McLoughlin) Central Committee as they bumble their way to maintain order after his sudden death.
Lavrenti Beria (Simon Russell Beale) tries to wield power from behind the scenes through blackmail and manipulation. As a result, Nikita Khrushchev (Steve Buscemi) plans a coup against Beria. The movie is far from historically accurate, given that most of the characters speak in British or North American accents. However, the movie boasts spectacular and hilarious performances from its cast, which includes Paddy Considine, Rupert Friend, Jason Isaacs, Olga Kurylenko, Michael Palin, Andrea Riseborough, and Paul Whitehouse.

YouTube videos could soon look better without eating quite so much data, right? Thankfully, the platform plans to introduce a new video format called AV2 on its web player in early 2027, promising more efficient streaming and potentially fewer playback hiccups on slower internet connections. The big headline is a roughly 30% improvement in compression efficiency over AV1, YouTube's existing video format. That doesn't guarantee every video will use 30% less data, but it could make streaming a little easier on both internet connections and data allowances.
