Hulu remains a popular service with no shortage of content for all ages. Mature audiences can treat themselves to adored adult movies like Predator, Heat, and The Life of Chuck.
Meanwhile, subscribers can stream plenty of charming, kid-friendly content, including School of Rock and The Princess Bride. Below is our guide to the best movies on Hulu this month.

In Michael Mann’s classic film, obsessive Los Angeles Police Detective Lt. Hanna (Al Pacino) pursues master thief Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro) as he tries to pull off one last heist before retirement. Despite their mutual respect, both Hanna and McCauley are willing to take each other to the grave in order to do their jobs.
While a highlight of Heat is its iconic action scenes, the movie also explores how Hanna and McCauley’s lives have become consumed by their work. Since Hanna is dead-set on taking down McCauley, his work gets in the way of his relationship with his wife (Diane Verona) and stepdaughter (Natalie Portman), making for an especially gripping crime epic.

While all the Predator films released before Prey have come to Hulu this January, the franchise’s first movie ranks as the best of the bunch. In the original action classic, a team of elite soldiers embarks on a rescue mission in the Central American rainforest.
Though they take down guerrilla soldiers with ease, the team gets picked off one by one by an invisible hunter from another planet. With conventional weapons not working, team leader Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is forced to rely on his wits and what little resources he has to win this epic battle for survival.

In Matthew Vaughn’s ultraviolent spy movie, young Eggsy (Taron Egerton) is recruited into the titular spy organization by veteran agent Harry Hart, a.k.a. Galahad (Colin Firth). As Eggsy hones his skills and makes new friends, the Kingsmen investigate a conspiracy orchestrated by tech billionaire Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) that threatens all of humanity.
At times, the film can get too over the top. But overall, Kingsman: The Secret Service delivers a thrilling, hilarious satire of the James Bond films filled with gripping characters and incredible action scenes.

Based on the novella by Stephen King, director Mike Flanagan’s film begins with schoolteacher Marty (Chiwetel Ejiofor) living in a world on the brink of destruction. As the Internet fails and countless disasters ravage civilization, he races to be with his ex-wife Felicia (Karen Gillan) in an apocalypse somehow connected to Chuck Krantz’s (Tom Hiddleston) death.
The film then takes us back in time to explore Chuck’s life, from his childhood as an aspiring dancer (Benjamin Pajak) to his adulthood as an accountant. Through that, the film presents a heartwarming celebration of human existence as one man embraces life, even in its darkest moments.

Director Armando Iannucci’s The Death of Stalin is a riotous black comedy exploring the demise of one of history’s worst dictators. Specifically, it follows the members of Stalin’s (Adrian McLoughlin) Central Committee as they bumble their way to maintain order after his sudden death.
Lavrenti Beria (Simon Russell Beale) tries to wield power from behind the scenes through blackmail and manipulation. As a result, Nikita Khrushchev (Steve Buscemi) plans a coup against Beria. The movie is far from historically accurate, given that most of the characters speak in British or North American accents. However, the movie boasts spectacular and hilarious performances from its cast, which includes Paddy Considine, Rupert Friend, Jason Isaacs, Olga Kurylenko, Michael Palin, Andrea Riseborough, and Paul Whitehouse.

Anora, the reigning winner for Best Picture at the Oscars, is all about a young woman who really wants her Cinderella story to come true. Mikey Madison won Best Actress for her turn as Anora Mikheeva, a sex worker who has gone about as far as she can in life until she meets Ivan “Vanya” Zakharov (Mark Eydelshteyn). In Ivan, Anora sees a way out and a potential life of ease and luxury thanks to his wealth.
Unfortunately for Anora, she and Ivan underestimated just how far his Russian oligarch parents, Nikolai (Aleksei Serebryakov) and Galina Zakharova (Darya Ekamasova), would go to annul their marriage and keep them apart. When Ivan runs off, he leaves Anora to face his parents’ henchmen alone.

Nicolas Cage is the thing that goes bump in the night as the title character in Longlegs. The studio made the right choice to withhold Cage’s appearance before the movie was released. For two decades, Longlegs has targeted families and staged their murders to make it appear as if the father killed everyone.
In 1994, FBI agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe) is on the case, and she’s made it her personal mission to end Longlegs’ reign of terror. While Harker is hunting Longlegs, he’s got his own deadly objectives to meet, and the mystery behind his identity leads directly back to her past.

Serving as a prequel to the 1987 film Predator, Prey gives us the story of a Comanche warrior named Naru (Amber Midthunder) who aspires to be the mighty protector of her Great Plains tribe in the 1700s. One day, a powerful new foe descends on her clan, forcing Naru and her fellow Comanche to summon up all their wits and strength to thwart the combatant extraterrestrial.
Prey is a propulsive and blood-soaked nail-biter of an action film, and one that could effectively stand alone as a singular entity. But in this case, it’s a new entry in a much-loved franchise, and it’s one we’re betting will make plenty of fans happy.
