A toxic relationship serves as the narrative force in Tell Me Lies, based on Carola Lovering’s 2018 novel of the same name. Beginning in 2007, Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) is a freshman at Baird College. Lucy meets junior Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) and instantly forms a connection.
What starts as a harmless college relationship transforms into an addictive and turbulent connection that plays out over eight years. Season 3 will show the characters trying to move on, only to be pulled back into each other’s lives, forcing them to face the consequences of their bad decisions.

Even before its premiere, this South Korean series was greenlit for a second season. Set in the 1970s, this new action-packed political drama follows Korean Central Intelligence Agent Baek Ki-tae (Hyun Bin), who secretly pursues wealth and power in his double life as a drug smuggler.

This series from Reservation Dogs creator Sterlin Harjo premiered on FX in late 2025, and it has grown into one of the most acclaimed shows of the year. The Lowdown follows investigative journalist and self-proclaimed “truthstorian” Lee Raybon (Ethan Hawke), whose endless pursuit of the truth always gets him in hot water.
The series shows Lee uncovering a sinister conspiracy in Tulsa, Oklahoma, centered around a powerful family after one of its members is found dead. As Lee navigates a web of crime and corruption, he finds himself followed by a mysterious private investigator named Marty (Keith David).

What We Do in the Shadows begins with familiar Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) awkwardly waking up his vampire master, Nandor (Kayvan Novak), setting the stage for the most ridiculous and entertaining vampire mockumentary. The series follows Nandor as he lives on Staten Island with his other vampiric roommates: Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadia (Natasia Demetriou), and the energy vampire Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch).
While the vampires garner the most laughs as they struggle to live in the modern world and navigate its supernatural underworld, Guillermo carries the show as he battles his conflicting feelings about wanting to become a vampire, growing more and more frustrated with the vampires’ demands and mistreatment of him. Things only get more complicated when he discovers he is a descendant of legendary vampire hunter Van Helsing.

In creator Quinta Brunson’s mockumentary workplace sitcom, audiences follow the lives of the teachers at a predominantly Black public school in Philadelphia. Though the school is underfunded and led by an incompetent principal (Janelle James), Janine Teagues (Brunson) works hard with the other teachers to support their students as best as they can.
Abbott Elementary‘s fifth season premiered on ABC in October 2025, and there are some big changes. Janine is teaching a 40-student class, Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter) is teaching sixth graders, and one of Barbara’s (Sheryl Lee Ralph) previous students is a new teacher.

For the first time in franchise history, Alien went to television as a drama series in Alien: Earth. A prequel to the events of 1979’s Alien, this series examines how five corporations rule the planet and solar system. The first hybrid — a synthetic being with human consciousness — has been introduced to the world and could shape the course of mankind.
When a spaceship crashes on Earth, the hybrid Wendy (Sydney Chandler) and a group of soldiers investigate the remains. What they find will haunt their nightmares.

For 13 seasons, the Hills, a family of Arlen, Texas, became the subject of the animated sitcom King of the Hill. After 13 seasons, Fox canceled the show in 2010. 15 years later, King of the Hill returns for a 14th season on a new network, Hulu.
After years working in Saudi Arabia, Hank (Mike Judge) and Peggy Hill (Kathy Najimy) return to Arlen to find a different community. The couple’s son, Bobby (Pamela Adlon), is now working as a chef in Dallas. Despite being off the air for a decade, King of the Hill manages to hilariously capture the mundane aspects of a changing world.

In the new society of Gilead, women are relegated to subservient roles, and due to the low birth rate, a class of women called “handmaids” is conscripted to bear children for the powerful male leaders of Gilead. The protagonist of The Handmaid’s Tale, Offred/June (Elisabeth Moss), is one such woman, forced to have ritualized sex with Commander Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) to provide him and his wife with a child. Living without any rights or power, Offred tries to survive each day, hoping to one day be free.
The Handmaid’s Tale is a masterful adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s grim novel of the same name, with excellent performances and gorgeous, oft-disturbing scene composition. While the story diverges from Atwood’s writing in the latter seasons, the troubling themes and startling revelations continue, culminating in the show’s sixth and final season.

The show has had a long list of guests and supporting stars, including Tina Fey, Sting, Nathan Lane, Shirley MacLaine, Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd, and Eugene Levy. The show recently returned with season 5, which follows the gang as they investigate the death of their doorman.

When he left his job in the world of fine dining to take over his family’s small-town sandwich shop, Carmen (Jeremy Allen White) had no idea what he was in for. Not only is he dealing with the grief of family loss, but he is also trying to navigate a professional world very different from the one he knows.
That includes the challenges of running a small business and doing so with a team of rough-around-the-edges employees who are initially none too pleased to have him bossing them around. Nonetheless, “Carmy” is determined to succeed professionally in The Bear. But to do so means sacrifice, often at the expense of his personal growth and happiness.

Shōgun is a spectacular reimagining of the 1980 TV miniseries and the James Clavell novel. Three people end up in the same place by happenstance: John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), an English sailor; Lord Yoshii Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), a powerful daimyo; and Lady Toda Mariko (Anna Sawai), a woman who has been dishonored by her family.
While the story in Shōgun is largely fictional, it’s also loosely based on real historical events, with each character based on a real person. Blackthorne, for example, is based on English navigator William Adams, who became a samurai. He was taught by Tokugawa Ieyasu, on whom Toranaga is based, while Mariko is modeled after Hosokawa Garasha, an aristocrat from the Sengoku period.

Donald Glover’s comedy-drama Atlanta follows a dogged college dropout named Earn (Glover), who sleeps at his on-again/off-again girlfriend’s place and struggles to provide for their child. When he learns that his cousin Alfred is starting to achieve success as a rapper — stage name, Paper Boi — Earn becomes his manager.
There is not much of an overarching plot to Atlanta. Most episodes play out like short films, and the show experiments with a variety of stories and formats — one standout episode is presented entirely as an episode of a local interview show, complete with fake commercials. Daring and frequently poignant, Atlanta is one of the most exciting shows on TV today.

What South Park is to late-night animation, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is to sitcoms. Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, and Charlie Day — who also created the show — star as three best friends who kind of hate each other, while Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito round out the cast as the infamous Dee and Frank.
The group often finds itself in some of the most absurd situations as the members push into the uncharted, irreverent comedic territory for which the show is well known, usually as a result of their own botched schemes. The show recently completed its 17th season and has already been renewed through to season 18.
