Continuing a series of announcements related to the expanding cast of Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, comedian Hannibal Buress has signed on for a role as the film begins principal photography.

Recently seen in the Netflix stand-up comedy special called Comedy Camisado, Buress has had success on film and television as of late with appearances in The Nice Guys, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, and Broad City. Buress will also voice one of the characters in the upcoming animated film The Secret Life of Pets and appear in the film reboot of Baywatch.

Prior to the Buress announcement, other actors joining the cast of the upcoming superhero film include Donald Glover (Community),  Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus) and Isabella Amara (The Boss). The main characters in the cast include Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr. at Iron Man, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Michael Keaton as The Vulture.

While it’s possible Sony and Marvel will include more than one villain in the film, Vulture was one of the first villains that Spider-Man faced in the original comic books. Keaton’s character is an aging electronics engineer named Adrian Toomes who develops an electromagnetic harness that gives him the ability to fly like a bird. Wronged by a former business partner, Vulture attempts to get revenge, but is constantly foiled by Spider-Man. Vulture was also one of the founding members of the Sinister Six, a super-villain team formed by Doctor Octopus.

Sony and Marvel didn’t comment on the role that Buress will be playing in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Production on the movie is expected to ramp up this summer in order to meet the announced theatrical release date of July 7, 2017.
