The holidays are a time for family — even fictional ones — so Netflix is bringing back one of TV’s most famous in December: the Tanner clan. Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner-Fuller) revealed the show’s season 2 premiere date on The View today, reports Variety.
With new episodes arriving on Netflix on December 9, the series will be full of holiday cheer. The second season is “holiday-themed,” so we’ll see the Tanners celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. The festivities should serve as a fun and heartwarming backdrop for the family sitcom, while offering up plenty of opportunities for members of the original Full House cast to drop in.
The first season centered on original stars D.J., Stephanie (Jodi Sweetin), and Kimmy (Andrea Barber) as they moved back into the Tanner family home — D.J. because she had been widowed, and Stephanie and Kimmy to help her raise her three sons. They also got occasional support from other members of the family, including Tanner patriarch Danny (Bob Saget), Uncle Jesse (John Stamos), Aunt Becky (Lori Laughlin), and Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier).
Season 1 was full of ’90s nostalgia, and season 2 won’t be lacking, either. Fuller House season 2 will include a guest appearance by New Kids on the Block’s Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood, and Jordan and Jonathan Knight. The next installment will also continue to follow D.J. as she deals with dating after the death of her husband. Clearly, the Tanner-Fuller family will be keeping busy.
The Fuller House Facebook account shared the news of the premiere date being announced, calling it an “early holiday present,” and revealed a new poster as well.
