Anyone who has seen Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope remembers that iconic moment when Princess Leia records a message via R2-D2, appealing to a long-forgotten Jedi by saying “I want a wooden snowman, but no one sells them.”

OK, so that doesn’t happen in the film. But it’s one of the more hilarious moments in Bad Lip Reading’s latest video (embedded above), which takes clips from the original Star Wars and dubs them with things it looks like the characters could be saying, according to the movement of their lips.

This, of course, results in all sorts of iconic lines being butchered in the most hilarious way possible.

“Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope” becomes ““I want a wooden snowman, but no one sells them.”

“You don’t want to see his identification, these aren’t the droids you’re looking for” becomes “Hey, you should know that you stink kinda like fish, everyone knows it except for you.”

“You can’t win Darth, if you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine” becomes “you got weird eyes, yeah, and she went and poked my eye for doin’ the crossword in her magazine.”

Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

As ScreenCrush points out, Bad Lip Readings are typically done by a one of the the series’ producers, but this particular video boasts some serious star power: Jack Black is Darth Vader; Maya Rudolph is Princess Leia; and Bill Hader is Boba Fett, Bib Fortuna, Jabba the Hutt, and Uncle Owen, among others.

Another interesting wrinkle is the presence of lipless characters like Darth Vader, R2-D2, C-3PO, etc., When these characters speak, the Bad Lip Reading team has carte blanche to insert whatever wacky words they can come up with.
