After Suicide Squad hit theaters, some moviegoers felt something was missing — namely, scenes they saw in trailers. Those scenes are not lost forever, though: Warner Bros. announced that it will release an extended cut of the supervillain flick.

For some fans, an extended cut may smooth ruffled feathers. Both fans and even actor Jared Leto felt the role of the Joker, in particular, was more watered down than expected. Leto, who portrayed the deranged villain, admitted that much of what he filmed was left out of the theatrical release. He highlighted how much filming he did in an interview with BBC Radio 1, saying “there’s probably enough footage” for the Joker to have a stand-alone film.

Leto also told NME that the Joker became “more of a supporting part than maybe it could have been if they’d used everything.” He added that the creative team has “a method to their madness,” though, and the character was set up to potentially appear in other films.

Nonetheless, the cuts did not go over well for some, to say the least. One Reddit user announced plans to sue Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment, claiming it was “false advertising,” according to The Independent. He said he went to the movie expecting to see several scenes — many featuring the Joker — from the trailers, only to find they did not make it into the theatrical version.

The extended cut will give viewers a closer look at the film’s many eccentric characters. Centering on a group of supervillains brought in for a government mission, Suicide Squad stars Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, and Cara Delevingne.

The extended cut will be available on Digital HD on November 11 and Blu-ray on December 13.
