While there are a few e-bike brands, one we tend to feel favorable about is Aventon. In August, for example, we gave the Aventon Ramblas eMTB e-bike four and a half stars in our review. In 2023, we also gave the Aventon Soltera.2 city e-bike four and a half stars. We liked Aventon e-bikes so much that we even ditched our car for a whole month. So, you better believe when there’s a great deal on Aventon’s excellent e-bikes we’re going to shout it from the rooftops. That’s exactly what’s happening right now. Two of Aventon’s best, the Pace 500 and the Level 2, are discounted by $200 and $300 respectively. One is a versatile anywhere bike, while the other is best for long-range rides and commutes. Let’s get into it.

One of the most interesting things about Aventon’s approach to e-bike models is that they come in different variants. Those versions have similar features and specs, but they’re tailored to a specific activity. For instance, the Pace 500 comes in a Step-Through version, and a more powerful, traditional cruiser version. The Step-Through is easier to use and doesn’t have the middle bar allowing you to step through the frame to mount it — hence the name. The Pace 500 offers up to a 60-mile range on a single charge. It also features a top speed of 28 miles per hour thanks to a 500-watt motor.

Comparatively, the Level 2 comes in the traditional Commuter style and an alternative Step-Through style. It also offers a 60-mile range on a single charge with a top speed of 28 miles per hour but has a much more powerful 750-watt (peak) motor.

Now, I know what you’re thinking here. What’s the difference between the Pace 500 and the Level 2? If you really want to get into the weeds, they’re both e-bikes, they both have about the same specs, and both would work for just about anyone. But realistically, the Level 2 is excellent for long-range cruising like commutes, sightseeing, city rides, and beyond. The Pace 500 is more of a casual cruiser for joy rides, exploring, and maybe even a quick grocery or store trip. That’s the other thing that’s so great about Aventon’s e-bikes: There are a bevy of add-ons you can use like a hitch rack to stow some cargo.

As for features, you get a backlit LCD display mounted on the handlebars, an intelligent torque sensor, integrated lights with turn signal functionality, pedal assist and throttle, and puncture-resistant tires.

The prices are the real highlight here thanks to the current sale. These two Aventon e-bikes come out to $1,599 for the Pace 500 — normally $1,799 so $200 off — and $1,599 for the Level 2 — normally $1,899 so $300 off. Those discounted prices are good for both the regular and the Step-Through versions, whichever you prefer. Hurry, though, I’m not sure how long these low prices are going to last.
