REI doesn’t participate in the Black Friday deals, as evidenced by its #OptOutside campaign. But that doesn’t mean you won’t find great deals during the holiday season — its Cyber Week sale started Saturday and continues through the week, with special one day only deals today on Cyber Monday itself.
You can save up to 50% off (and more on a few select items), including select clothing, camping and hiking gear, and other items. We wanted to highlight our favorite three deals first, but a more extensive list can be found at the bottom of this post.
Our first deal here on the REI Co-op Trail 40 Pack is by far the most heavily discounted item among REI’s Cyber Monday deals. Normally $119, REI is clearing out its stock at just $30, a savings of 75%. We’re pretty sure that this item is going to sell out early on as REI was already marking these bags down to $59 before Black Friday weekend. People love these bags, saying they’re durable and sturdy and comfortable to wear, thanks to a spring-steel perimeter frame that provides load support while also allowing the back panel to conform to your torso.
Besides the main compartment, the Trail 40 includes a mesh side pocket and a back pocket within the main compartment itself and a mesh side pocket to hold your water bottle. It even has a built-in rain cover to protect your gear if it rains, which stows into its own dedicated pocket. Another zippered pocket underneath the top can be used to store your keys, valuables, and snacks. But like we said, hurry: this deal will not last long at all.
Our next deal is a good one if you have somebody who enjoys climbing to buy for. REI is discounting the popular Five Ten Men’s Quantum climbing shoes during Cyber Monday, marking the shoes down to just $80, saving you $105. Designed in coordination with professional climbers Alex and Thomas Huber, these shoes are designed to give you reliable performance in just about any terrain you might find yourself in.
The Stealth C4 rubber soles provide exceptional grip and are shaped in a way that mimics your natural foot position, almost like climbing barefoot. A stiff midsole and lined Clarino synthetic leather upper make them comfortable for long periods of wear, and if your sole begins to wear out, Five Ten has designed the Quantum so it can be resoled.
Looking for a good pair of binoculars? REI’s deal on the Nikon Prostaff 3S is pretty good. With 10x magnification, you should have no problem seeing objects clearly at a distance, and any camping, canoeing, or birdwatching activity is perfect for the Prostaff 3S. Usually $130, for Cyber Monday only, REI is selling this pair for just $90.
The Prostaff 3S has an apparent angle of view of about 63 degrees, yielding a 367-foot field of view at its widest point. The body is made of durable fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate resin, cutting down on weight, and rubber body armor offers a firm grip while providing a reasonable degree of shock resistance just in case you drop them.
The above deals we’ve shared are only a sample of what’s available for Cyber Monday: Here are all the best deals we’ve been able to find, which we’ll update throughout the day.
