However, with every new iteration of a popular tech product — especially one that appears to check all the boxes, such as an AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and an affordable price — there are always questions about what changes have been made to keep the model competitive. OnePlus has followed in the footsteps of most other smartphone manufacturers over the past decade in removing the headphone jack. So it’s nothing new if you’ve had a smartphone in the past decade, though it might still be a disappointment.
The less-expensive OnePlus 13R, which arrived alongside the OnePlus 13, also lacks a headphone jack. So anyone who was holding out for the more budget model, keep this in mind when making your decision.
If you’re set on using wired headphones with your OnePlus 13, you will have to adopt a dongle. You won’t be able to plug in any gear with a 3.5mm cable, but you can get a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter and use it with any of your existing wired headphones.
Otherwise, expect to go wireless for all your audio solutions with the OnePlus 13. You won’t get the highest-quality fidelity possible with wireless headphones, but there are a wide variety to choose from when buying a pair, whether that means getting AirPods or bass-booming over-ear headphones that give you more options.
Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter which wireless headphones you choose. Having some form of audio is better than having none at all, especially since this version, along with future OnePlus smartphones, doesn’t come with a headphone jack. That feature is now a thing of the past. Fortunately, many manufacturers are stepping up to fill this gap with better and more affordable wireless earbuds and headphones that continue to improve each year.

Google Play is borrowing one of the Nintendo Switch’s most useful little tricks. A new Sidekick tool called Playbacks captures a short clip after something interesting has already happened, sparing players from running a screen recorder throughout an entire game.

Samsung’s scandal over its Game Optimizing Service, or GOS, has returned with a bill attached. South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission has tentatively fined the company 20.1 billion won, or about $15.1 million, over gaming claims made for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22, and Tab S8.
The regulator says Samsung promoted the devices as gaming powerhouses without disclosing that GOS placed preset CPU and GPU limits on certain demanding games. Samsung disputes that conclusion, calling GOS a legitimate way to manage heat.
