At Apple’s Spring Event 2022, the iPhone maker announced new colors for its iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. You’ll now be able to get an iPhone 13 in green and an iPhone 13 Pro in Alpine Green. “Created using multiple layers of nanometer-scale metallic ceramics applied across the surface,” according to Apple, the new green color for the regular iPhone 13 is rich and deep, and it resembles a forest green shade. The iPhone 13 Pro in the new Alpine green is a lighter shade, but still vibrant. These new colors will be available beginning March 18, 2022.
The iPhone 13 was announced on September 14, 2021, and it began shipping on September 24, 2021. The regular iPhone 13 initially only came in red, starlight, midnight blue, or pink, while the iPhone 13 Pro initially only came in graphite, gold, silver, and sierra blue. These new color options will provide iPhone 13 and 13 Pro fans with another finish option, as a finish can be a make or break factor for some users.
“People love the design of iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13, and we’re excited to unveil the stunning new alpine green and green finishes, which join the wide range of beautiful colors on the iPhone 13 lineup,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing in an Apple press release. “These new colors give customers even more options when choosing their iPhone, and we can’t wait for them to take advantage of all the iPhone 13 lineup offers, including unmatched performance with A15 Bionic, our best camera systems, massive improvements to battery life for everyday needs, fast 5G, incredible durability, and so much more.”
Two new highly requested iCloud plugins just got added to ChatGPT, giving people who rely on Apple’s Mail and Calendar services a way to search emails, check appointments, and manage their schedules directly through the chatbot.
The integration is rolling out to all ChatGPT plans, including the free tier. You can access it on the web, desktop, and iOS.
Google Play is borrowing one of the Nintendo Switch’s most useful little tricks. A new Sidekick tool called Playbacks captures a short clip after something interesting has already happened, sparing players from running a screen recorder throughout an entire game.
Playbacks is part of Google Play Store v53.8 and keeps saved clips on the phone. Google first announced it earlier this month, but the new Play Store update marks its arrival for players. Anyone who has watched a perfect win vanish because the record button came too late already understands the appeal.
Samsung’s scandal over its Game Optimizing Service, or GOS, has returned with a bill attached. South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission has tentatively fined the company 20.1 billion won, or about $15.1 million, over gaming claims made for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22, and Tab S8.
The regulator says Samsung promoted the devices as gaming powerhouses without disclosing that GOS placed preset CPU and GPU limits on certain demanding games. Samsung disputes that conclusion, calling GOS a legitimate way to manage heat.
