Studyhub connects you with on-demand tutors for your science and math homework

If you've been looking for a tutor in mathematics, chemistry, or physics, look no more. Studyhub is a new iOS app designed to pair you up with a "world class" tutor to help you better understand your high school homework problems.

Throughout my high school career, homework was the bane of my existence. Admittedly, I probably should have had a tutor in a subject or two, but I never made the effort to do so and it showed in my GPA.

If you’re in the same boat, there’s a new app that might help you solve your problems, both literally and metaphorically. It’s called Studyhub, and it’s a new iOS app designed to help you better understand and complete your homework with the help of a tutor.

The process is fairly straightforward. Choose the subject you need help in, take a photo of the problem(s) in question, and you’ll be connected to a tutor who will help walk you through the problem using voice chat and a digital blackboard.

What sets Studyhub apart from other homework helping apps is its integrated voice chat and visual blackboard. Rather than using text-based communication, which is limited in many ways, Studyhub instantly connects you to one of its “world class” tutors, who will explain the problem over voice chat while simultaneously giving visual feedback through the live blackboard.

This auditory and visual feedback is especially important for more visual subjects, such as mathematics and science classes where graphs, diagrams, and figures are important to comprehension.

Currently, Studyhub offers tutors in three subjects: math, chemistry, and physics. There’s no word yet on when other subjects are expected to be supported.

The Studyhub app itself is free to download in the iOS App Store, so head on over and take it for a spin if you need a little help with your homework.

Two new highly requested iCloud plugins just got added to ChatGPT, giving people who rely on Apple’s Mail and Calendar services a way to search emails, check appointments, and manage their schedules directly through the chatbot.

The integration is rolling out to all ChatGPT plans, including the free tier. You can access it on the web, desktop, and iOS.

Google Play is borrowing one of the Nintendo Switch’s most useful little tricks. A new Sidekick tool called Playbacks captures a short clip after something interesting has already happened, sparing players from running a screen recorder throughout an entire game.

Playbacks is part of Google Play Store v53.8 and keeps saved clips on the phone. Google first announced it earlier this month, but the new Play Store update marks its arrival for players. Anyone who has watched a perfect win vanish because the record button came too late already understands the appeal.

Samsung’s scandal over its Game Optimizing Service, or GOS, has returned with a bill attached. South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission has tentatively fined the company 20.1 billion won, or about $15.1 million, over gaming claims made for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22, and Tab S8.

The regulator says Samsung promoted the devices as gaming powerhouses without disclosing that GOS placed preset CPU and GPU limits on certain demanding games. Samsung disputes that conclusion, calling GOS a legitimate way to manage heat.
