If you don’t want to spend the money on a high-end DSLR camera, mirrorless cameras are an excellent alternative. But they, too, can be expensive, at least normally. Right now, thanks to a bevy of Prime Big Deal Days discounts, the best camera deals, in general, and super great Prime Day camera deals there are a ton of offers available. So, it’s a great time to shop if you’ve been on the fence. However, we wanted to call out a great deal for novice photographers on the Canon EOS R100 mirrorless camera. Normally $600, it’s just $429 right now as part of the event, saving you over $170. The bundle includes the RF-S18-45mm lens. Again, a great starting point for casual or novice photographers.

For starters, let’s talk about why the Canon EOS R100 is such a great camera for novice and casual photographers. The compact design, the stellar image quality, and the DIGIC 8 powerful image processor are all great, but when you’re using the camera all of that stuff kind of blends into the background. It works seamlessly in many cases. What really stands out here is Canon’s superior autofocus technology which is just phenomenal.
The dual-pixel CMOS autofocused covers a wide area while taking shots, meaning it’s precise and reliable at capturing exactly the subjects you want, in focus and in frame. Even with continuous capture and high-speed shots, it works well, which is something you don’t usually find in a low to mid-grade camera. Make no mistake, this is mid-grade only in price, as it has some great features and lots of value.
You can use the Canon EOS R100 to capture HD video at 120 frames per second, full HD at 60 frames per second or 4K at 24 frames per second. Keep in mind, video isn’t the primary reason you’d use this camera but it’s certainly nice to have and it works wonderfully here. If you’re asking how I know all of this I’ve used one for a while and only recently upgraded.
This particular bundle includes the RF-S18-45mm lens, along with the necessities like a battery and charger. Normally $600, you can grab it today for just $429, which is over $170 off. You might also consider the slightly more expensive bundle that comes with an RF-S55-210mm lens for $500 — normally $830.
