NEW YORK, NY, and PORTLAND, Ore., July 17, 2019 — Digital Trends today announced the hiring of two new editors to handle the publication’s coverage of these growing areas of how technology plays a role in every aspect of our lives.
The hires, announced by Editor in Chief Jeremy Kaplan, are John Velasco, Smart Home Editor and Corey Gaskin, Associate Mobile and Wearable Editor. Gaskin, also coming to Digital Trends from PhoneArena, has worked for Microsoft, XDA-developers as well.
“I’m beyond ecstatic to be working with the dynamic, talented, and hard-working team, at Digital Trends and diving into the emerging Smart Homes space,” said Velasco. “Digital Trends has long been a favorite in my bookmarks and I’m thrilled to be a part of the team and can’t wait to show our audience the future,” said Gaskin.
EIC Kaplan said “We welcome both John and Corey to Digital Trends as it’s a recognition of the incredible growth in both Smart Homes and Wearables as they integrate into our lives and culture, which is what we specialize in.
