The arrival of the new, near-perfect Series 5 has solidified the Apple Watch’s status as the best in the smartwatch sector. For Android users, however, Samsung remains a popular choice. If you’re in the market for a reliable, feature-rich wearable that you can pair with your Android phone, check out Amazon’s deal on the Samsung Gear Sport.
The giant retailer brings the standard price of the Gear Sport from $300 down to $180. On top of this $120 discount is the chance to slash an extra $50 off instantly when your Amazon Rewards Visa gets approved.
The Samsung Gear Sport is compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones, but the experience is significantly smoother for Android, especially for Samsung Galaxy phones. Every notification is actionable and can be easily deleted directly from the watch. You’ll also be able to send emojis, choose from canned responses, type on the keyboard, and even use your voice to respond to a message. iPhone users, on the other hand, will have to put up with limitations on notifications and other features.
Perhaps the most innovative feature of this device is its rotating bezel, which offers a convenient way to interact with the watch. A simple turn of the bezel will allow you to check notifications, view widgets, and scroll through messages.
As the “Sport” moniker indicates, the Samsung Gear Sport is a fitness-focused wearable. It offers support for various workouts and exercises, including walking, running, and cycling, with the option to manually start sessions or let the watch detect them automatically. It can also provide personal coaching, monitor daily progress, check calorie balance, and track activities with heart rate and GPS mapping. The watch is swim-ready and water-resistant for up to 50 meters.
Slim and lightweight, the Gear Sport is ideal for everyday use and workouts. Its silicone strap feels so pleasant on the skin that you’ll hardly notice you’re wearing it. It looks great even with non-sporty outfits, but you have the option to swap out the band for further personalization.
The Samsung Gear Sport strikes the balance between form and function. It may be two years old already but it’s still a solid entryway into the world of smart wearables. Don’t miss the chance to score this brand-name smartwatch for a hefty $120 less on Amazon.

What's happened? This week, China's Quality Certification Center released information about a battery (EB-BS04898ABY) with a maximum capacity of 4,855mAh. That's the same capacity as was previously seen in the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, and fans have taken this certification to mean the Galaxy S26 Ultra will not see a capacity increase after all.
The Samsung Galaxy Ultra models have had the same battery capacity for the last five years.
