The Apple Watch Memorial Day deals have arrived, with Amazon and Best Buy’s Memorial Day sales bringing the most significant discounts: The Apple Watch Series 3 from just $179, down from $199, and the latest Apple Watch Series 5 from only $299, down $100 from $399. You’ll need to act fast to be in with a chance of taking either of these puppies home on the cheap: Stock is limited and competition is fierce when it comes to Apple Watch deals.
With multiple options for you to pick from in 2020, choosing the right Apple Watch is not as easy as it might have been a few years ago. Six generations of the Apple Watch have been released so far and three of them — the Apple Watch Series 3, Apple Watch Series 4, and Apple Watch Series 5 — are on the market right now.
The Series 5 is the newest 2019 release (and is actually the sixth generation model despite its name, as the first Apple Watch was not numbered). It’s the latest, greatest, and most feature-rich; and as you would expect, it’s the most expensive with a starting price of around $400 for the basic models. There is no denying that the Apple Watch Series 5 is an early perfect wearable, though, so if you want the best and are willing to pay for it (and the above Memorial Day Apple Watch deals should help with that), then it’s easy to recommend.
The Apple Watch Series 4 is in kind of a weird spot between the Series 5 and Series 3. It’s not much cheaper than the Series 5 (meaning that it’s quite a bit more expensive than the Series 3), but that isn’t to say that it’s a bad buy. The Apple Watch Series 4 was impressive in 2018 and it’s impressive now. That said, we only recommend the Series 4 if you want some upgrades over the Series 3 and can find a worthy deal on it. If not, it might be a better idea to spring for the Series 5.
The 2017 Apple Watch Series 3 is the oldest WatchOS wearable that is still on the market, and Apple has kept supporting it for a reason. It’s an excellent smartwatch that has aged well. While it lacks some of the updated features of the Series 4 and Series 5, the Apple Watch Series 3 is about half the price (or less) of the newer models — you can often find the brand new Series 3 going for less than $200, which is an incredible value. If you’re after a solid Apple Watch deal, you’re on a budget, and you want to get the most bang for your buck, the Series 3 is the one for you.

Forget the watch, Apple’s AI Pin might be its next wearable move
According to the details shared so far, the wearable is still in the very early stages of development. In fact, Apple could launch it or even cancel it, depending on how engineering and market conditions evolve. That said, people familiar with the project say the company is targeting a 2027 release window, a move that would position Apple directly against other AI wearable efforts from competitors like OpenAI and others experimenting with similar form factors.
